Brand Watch | 10IS FALL/WINTER 13

I know there is a lot of photos from this years lookbook of French shoe company 10IS (pronounced 'tennis') but I had the most difficult time choosing what to feature! It is all so great, and yet I only scratched the surface. This beautiful catalog was shot by Aurélie Lécuyer from the blog "Le Dans La" (http://ledansla.blogspot.fr). We've got several favourites from this Fall-Winter collection. For girls who can pass the wonderful Ten Mid lace Cirku black, or the Gobi Leopard?? Or for something neautral how about the pure Devonx buff metalic silver?
For boys there are several great options, there are lots of colour combinations, and new for this season are the high top Ten Easy shoes. New are also the Twin Zip shoes which you simple open up with two zips for even easier access. There is also several velcro solutions like the 3 Velcro and the Ten Speed Velcro. We own several of these shoes ourselves and can definitely recommend them wholeheartedly. The quality is high and the workmanship that goes into these shoes is nothing but astounding.
For full collection head on over to their website, where you also can find your closest retailer.

Brand Watch | Mini & Maximus FW13
Californian label Mini & Maximus is almost out with another exciting FW13 collection. This one entitled "LOS BANDITOS" is packed with mischievous wear for the little bandits in our lives. There are some more cool graphics and art ready to be worn, and a few good messages like "don't grow up' and 'no bullying' as well. Happy to announce that my girl M has drawn another little addition to the collection, the sneaky M, which is featured on a sweatshirt and a few dresses. It is always fun to see how the drawings comes out on the finished garment, and we are very excited for this one! The colours keys for this collection are olive green, burnt red, deep teal, khaki and a splash of pink.
The Los Banditos collection will be out in a couple of weeks time, and will be available in stores like, Minitbots / Orange Mayonnaise / Scandinavian Minimall / Skip To My Lou / My Little Square / Noeuf and of course in Mima's own webshop.

Brand Watch | NOVA STAR aw13
Swedish Nova Star is something that I have had in my kids wardrobe for a long time now. I bought our first pair of sweatpants and jeans about 7 years ago and since then many more NS clothes have ended up being favourites with the kids (the first sweatpants are still being used by little brother right now). They have just released their AW13 collection and there are some great new styles for both boys and girls who are after cool, soft design.
Nova Star was created by Helena Orlenius in 2004, when she had her first child, Novalieh. The style of the label is inspired by street fashion. Comfortable and functional clothes with great quality for a lot of adventures. Sizes run from 68 - 150 (3m - 12 yrs).

Oii barnkläder carries a big range of their collections and they ship worldwide.

Brand Watch | POM D'API FW13
There are shoes and then there are shoes. The cutest children's footwear comes from this French label, Pom d'Api. Here are a few of our favourites from their FW13 collection that is going out to stores soon.
For winter, Pom d’Api plays around with aesthetic codes with elegant results. Derbys and ballet flats are set off with distressed leather details in warm colours, whilst boots are decked out in natural leather and shiny velvet. Pom d’Api has been designing and manufacturing quality children’s shoes since 1973. Today, the choice of materials is still one of their priorities.

Brand Watch | Kidscase F/W13
The new Fall/Winter collections are rolling in over in Europe, and one label we are always excited to see is Dutch Kidscase. Their F/W collection is beautifully photographed by Annemarie van Drimmelen and showcasing another strong collection designed by Jacqueline van Nieuwkerk of Kidscase.
There is something magic about Kidscase style. It takes you back in time, just far enough to have nostalgic memories of your own childhood, but they only borrow the memories and put them into a more contemporary design. There is something almost wholesome about their chunky knits and beautifully crafted jackets that makes you smile and wish it came in bigger sizes. Kidscase deliver some very high quality garments for both kids and babies, and there is a lot to look forward to this winter.
You can find a large portion of the collection over at Orange Mayonnaise.

Brand Watch | Zara Winter '13

The new Zara Lookbook is out. Love the no nonsense / Terry Richardson approach to it. There are plenty of good wardrobe fillers here. Great basics with that little extra twists and a few nice winter jackets are in there as well.
I was doing a little dance of joy when Zara were finally launched Down Under, but I have to say I am quite disappointed with what is offered here. Granted we have opposite seasons here, but the innovative design, especially in the kids section is no where near what is offered in Europe. Still a puzzle to me, but happy that there is an online option. Above is a few of my favourites from this season.

Brand Watch | NicoNico AW13
A look at the new AW13 range from US based label Nico Nico. We have been long time fans of this label for its buttery soft raglan tops and comfy leggings and sweatpants. Less is more with this label and their new range doesn't disappoint! While a lot of labels seem to mute down the colours for Autumn and Winter Nico Nico turn them up with colour names like citrus, tomato and midnight. They have also added some gorgeous, neutral thick knits in heather grey, oatmeal and black that goes well with most attires.
We can't wait to see this collection hit stores soon! You can find Nico Nico in Australia via Minibots / Skip To My Lou and in Europe via Scandinavian Minimall / Oii Barnkläder

Moments | Winter Beach Bums
M wears: Fleece jacket by Witchery Kids / Skirt by Molo / Beanie by CTH Mini / Stockings by Bonds / Boots by Emu Uggs. D wears: Jacket by Danefæ / Pants by Katvig / Gumboots by Hummel Kids / Beanie home-made.
Some photos from the weekend that past. We braved some strong but rather warm winds and the kids had fun running on the sand. When the wind blew the sand it was almost like being in Scandinavian winter landscape, with the snow flying close to the ground. The water still looks nice enough to jump into but still way too cold. I can't wait until we can pack a big beach bag and head on down for a dip! Soon...soon I hope.

Close Up | Udder

M wears : Evie dress by Udder / Leggings by American Apparel / Sandals by Vivo Barefoot.A package came with some absolutely lovely threads from one of our sponsors Udder. We were thrilled to try out some of their clothes from their latest AW13 collection. My girl picked the Evie dress and my boy got a Howie ls tee. The Evie dress is made from 100% cotton poplin, and is an over sized dress that which can be worn as a dress now and later on as a blouse! It is very simple and stylish and will be a sure summer favorite for my girl.
The Howie ls tee is made from 100% cotton jersey and has a lovely stretch to it. I love the 2 button detail on the neckline and the grey/mustard is such a nice combo. Both items are ethically handmade in Bali.
For more info on these items and to check out the whole collection from Udder, visit their website here:

Moments | Coast Trip

M wears: Cardigan by Zara / Skirt by BIG / Tights by Bonds / Shoes by 10IS. D wears: Hoodie by Geggamoja / Top by Ebbe / Pants by Bobo Choses / Beanie by Vans / Shoes by Converse. We have had lovely but cold weather lately. One of our favourite beaches are down on the coast in a sleepy little town called Seaford. Winter or summer this place dishes up some amazing beach experiences so we decided to head that way and make a day of it. They also have a nice little beach cafe which is right at the beach front with a really nice view of the bay. After the kids had done their running around on the beach and collecting shells we were all pretty happy to get inside and warm up again. Big hot vegetable soup, mini milkshakes, coffee and something sweet and we were all ready to go again. Next time we drive over here we are hoping for summer weather and a chance to swim in that green, blue water again!
