Brand Watch | I Dig Denim @BucketsandSpades

Autumn and Winter is slowly creeping up and the days seem to get shorter and darker already over here in Australia. That is the time I start to look for some staple warmers for the kids wardrobe. We have been a longtime fans of Swedish label I Dig Denim, who always delivers a batch of fresh Scandinavian cool and a nice nostalgic feel from back home. This season we chose the Arizona jeans with an absolutely epic wash that simply screams denim.

This style is a relaxed fit jean with a drop crotch and a tapered leg. You can either wear them a bit loose on the hip or as a high waist. The comfort is perfect and my boy is already putting them on his chair in his room for easy access each morning.

We teamed the jeans with the super comfy Bernard hood in a vintage black wash. Timeless, effortless and all kinds of raw cool! These two pieces will be all he needs for those chillier Autumn days and with the amazing quality it has I already know they will get more and more comfortable for each wash! Find all your I Dig Denim needs over at Buckets and Spades who carry a great selection of this brand.

TRAVEL | FLINDERS TREEHOUSE

Miss M wears: Jacket by Missie Munster / Madison jean by I Dig Denim / boots by Cotton On. Mr D wears: Quilted denim shirt by Molo / Newark jean by I Dig Denim / Beanie by H&M.

Every now and then, the hustle and bustle of everyday life sort of catches up with us and the urge to simply get away comes sneaking up on us. This time around we opted to sneak away for a long weekend, and our first choice was to escape on a coast trip. We have had our eyes on the Flinders Treehouse for a while now, but there just hasn't been a good opportunity to check it out until now.

Set amongst the tall trees, this very private get away abode offers everything a family could want or need. Only a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach and a short drive or walk from Flinders village it is the perfect spot for a Flinders adventure. The house has a contemporary treehouse feel and it was a pleasure to sit on the balcony in the morning while having breakfast and take in the magnificent tall trees that surrounds the house. It is very easy to feel a million miles away from the city when all you can hear is the wind and the birds in the trees.

The house offers 4 bedrooms and plenty of space for two families if you wish to share it with someone. Our kids loved the fact that there was plenty of toys to play with and a big trampoline in the backyard. The panoramic windows on the top floor made it easy to see what the kids were upto in the backyard and we have to admit it was a welcome break to see the kids enjoy themselves, exploring and bouncing away outside, while we had a chance to kick back, enjoy a glass of wine and cozy up to the open fire inside.

The house is tastefully decorated and being a Swede I particularly felt at home with the Scandinavian design feel the house had.

Flinders is an excellent place to visit if you want to visit the many nearby vineyards, take a hike through the many magic nature tracks the area has to offer, or simply just enjoy some lovely local food. The rugged coast line is spectacular and we took so many photos we have to turn this trip into a part 2 on the blog! This area has truly something to offer for all ages and interests, so we definitely have to come back soon, to explore it some more. BRAND WATCH | SS16 I Dig Denim

Every time I get a glance at a new collection from Swedish I Dig Denim, I get a little bit homesick. The blue light, the atmosphere, the denim. It instantly brings me back to a familiar feeling and the mutual love for denim as a staple fashion favourite!

I Dig Denim's Spring and Summer 16 range is filled with some special 'must haves' for both young ones and women. We have fallen head of heels in love with their new Norton bomber jacket in a great new denim colour. Other favourites are the Alabama and Arizona blue denims for the boys and the cool Zoe dress, Bonnie jumpsuit and soft Belle Sweater with raw hems for the girls.

There are so many instant and timeless classics in this collection, and the baby selection are just too darn cute! Think mini denim and cosy sweat basics. I will definitely show you some of that range too soon. For women there is a lot of great new pieces coming too. The denim fit is just perfect and the tops are instant favourites that you seem to choose every time you make a choice in the wardrobe.

The new SS16 range drops in stores around the end of February.

Living in Melbourne certainly has it's perks. No matter how many wonderful cafes we visit there always seem to be more around the corner. One lovely cafe that certainly works well for families is Cowderoys Dairy Cafe. Situated in the heart of St.Kilda West it's a great place to head for great coffee and breakfast. The bonus besides the lovely food and drinks is that there is a nice outdoor deck seating area as well as a playground. The interior is that from a classic milk bar and the retro lovers will have a field day here. Great old furniture and fixtures that will take you right back to the good old days. The service was lovely and hardly any wait for the food at all. The kids loved taking in all the small details in the cafe like the hanging kites in the roof, or the old toys carefully displayed on the shelves traveling along the walls.

After we had filled up with some lovely breakfast and had our fun on the playground we explored the nearby alley ways and found some more nice hang outs and parks that we definitely will have to come back to explore some more! Both kiddos are wearing outfits from the amazing new collection from Bobo Choses - Der Blaue Reiter. A blast of colour and creative patterns which is right up our alley and became instant favourites with the kids & us parents. You can find the collection over at Buckets & Spades right now in store and it will go online on January 19th. Be sure to be fast as this brand sells out very quickly and sizes are limited.
