The sun is really starting to warm up the bay now. It is funny to think only a few weeks ago it was impossible to be at the bay without a warm sweater or jacket. Now its a place full of happy kids, parents and people on SUP (stand up paddle boards). There is a large rock pool area in Beaumaris and every now and then we head out there to just spend a few hours exploring and seeing what lives in the temporary pools that gather when the tide is out. The kids love it here, and you can really let them go without worrying about deep water or loosing them in a crowd. Here you can see as far as the eye can take you and you get a magnificent view of the bay. There is also a nice little cafe that serves food and coffee and it is a popular walking spot offering different scenery like forest and beach in one place.

It is so nice to finally have the warmer weather here. A chance to let the sun warm your skin and dip your feet into the sea without instantly freezing. We can't wait to have summer here for real soon!

Brand Watch | Munsterkids SS14

Who cares about cold winds and rain when you can warm your eyes on Munsterkids new SS14 collection!? Not us! This Australian label has always been a favourite of ours and their new line of summer threads contains several must haves for the warmer season wardrobe.

They always seem to have their finger on the urban pulse and manages to find the right amount of mischief to put in each and every of their garments. I love that they let kids be kids, espcially in this day and age where you see more and more make up in photo shoots containing kids. No perfect hair, no airbrushing in sight and if there is bruises on shins after adventures so be it. Munsterkids is about having fun, heading on adventures no matter where it might be, backyard, nature, on wheels and their clothes are perfect for it.

Right now their first drop of clothes have arrived in their webshop. Keep checking in as their second drop will be in September and third in October, so there will be a steady stream of new cool clothes through the Australian summer.

Close Up | Nico Nico, Emile et Ida, Petitbo

With the weather cooling down over here, its always good with 3 layers on the kids. Here are a few recent garments from the SS14 collections that are doing the trick.

1. The thick nice sweat from Emile et Ida collection is perfect for the cooler days and has a nice print of a car under a rain cloud (their colour choices and prints always gives me the same feeling as Bobo Choses which isn't a bad thing at all).

2. The great looking indigo long sleeve with a boatneck is from Nico Nico, and from their latest collection as well, it is such a diverse top that looks good with everything and suits a boy as well as a girl.

3. This cool tee from Petitbo is a must have. Ride Fast or Be Last on soft pink. Love the double hemmed arms, neck and waist, nice details, super soft and a print that will make the boys jealous! (or if they feel cool in a bit of pink why not give them one?)

Polish label nosweet has come out with another wonderful organic collection entitled "no is sweet". The beautiful pattern of moths is integrated in several garments and runs through the collection like a bitter sweet string. I love finding beauty in rare places and these moth patterns are so beautiful and a nice break from the otherwise more popular cousin the butterfly.

What makes nosweet special is the fact that their clothes are double BIO. Both the fabric and the pigments used for dyeing printed design lack harmful substances. The whole cycle of production: starting from cotton-growing, going through its treatment, weaving, dyeing or printing, ending with the final product of a ready-made fabric, is completely natural.

Brand Watch | Pom d'Api SS14

Popular French shoe label Pom d'Api has put a serious push for Spring over in Europe. Exotic prints, iridescent leathers, pastel or metallic varnishes give the right touch of character to sandals and plagettes.

We got a pair of summer sandals from Pom d'Api in the beginning of the summer and they have been the best summer shoes my girl have had. There is so much quality and craft going down into these shoes that even 2 months on, the sandals are still looking new after numerous adventures on playgrounds, beaches and holidays.

This spring/summer colours are: Emerald green, royal blue, deep orange and natural colours. Together they make up the palette of grained leathers that softly dress the timeless models of the brand.

Brand Watch | Finger in the Nose SS14

A quick look at Finger In The Nose and there SS14 collection today. As usual this label with it's base in Paris packs a big bag of authenticity and Rock n' Roll attitude, and this collection is no different. The summer trends of tie dye is present and some classic summer pieces like denim shirts and candy stripe bathing suit gives the collection that sort of 4th of July feeling.

The brand was created by Siv Tone Kverneland. The combination of French posh and Scandinavian cool is clearly visible in the styles of Finger in the Nose. We recently featured their lovely family home which you can read about here.

The ever so popular Swedish label Mini Rodini launched their SS14 Mini Zoologist collection yesterday. Elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, pandas is in this first drop, and an array of other exotic animals are to come.

French shoe label 10IS (pronounced tennis) has just released their SS14 range "A Sunday brunch in summer"

molo Spring/Summer 14 is hitting stores right now and they Danish label is yet again putting out a strong and colourful collection for both boys, girls and babies.

molo's spring and summer collection '14 is the largest to date and offers a juxtaposition of craziness and simplicity. The collection is an experiment in contrast, graphic expressions, innovative prints as well as metallic details, tone-on-tone effects and colour blocking. Look for a playful combination of colours, materials and patterns.

The boys can look forward to exploring the skies and the sesas and unleas their inner race car driver in themes like Sky Blues, Urban Adventure and Flower Waves.
