Photography | Anna Hurtig

A huge part of my daily inspiration comes through photography, and I have always been very fascinated by great children's photography. Somebody who does it very well is Swedish photographer Anna Hurtig.  Her Imaginary Play 2008 - 2011, deals exactly with the magical world that children seem to move so effortlessly in. I thought I would share some of my favourites from her work, and hopefully it will give you some inspiration in your day as well...

"Someone once said that the happiest time in a persons life is between the age of four and twelve.
The series imaginary play is all about that time in life.
Days filled with make-believe, fantasies, magic and dreams. But also about the bewilderment, sorrows and broken hearts that is part of growing up." - Anna Hurtig.

Close Up: Brian Gaberman

I am in love with the work of Brian Gaberman right now.. stumbled upon his work in a copy of Monster Children magazine the other day and loved exploring this talented photographers work.

Brian Gaberman will never grow up. An international photographer based in Northern California, Brian has spent the last 14 years traveling the world with camera, producing countless editorial pieces and ad campaigns. The youngest photographer to ever be featured in B&W Magazine, Brian took a detour from his art and dove head first into skateboard photography. By merging his background in fine art photography with his skateboarding work, he revolutionized the look of skateboard magazines forever. He continues to explore his medium and brand the companies he works for with his unique aesthetic, style, and easy going nature. His personal projects still find their way into galleries from time to time.

Moments | Sidewalk fun!

There is two things we never seem to get enough of in this family. Soap bubbles and sidewalk chalk!! We recently had a chance to try out these Veggie Sidewalk Chalks by WeeCanToo from My Lille Limón, and we invited some of the neighbors kids to join in on the fun! These chalks are made from 100% natural products and are safe to consume (even though not recommended). The kids loved the bright colours they created and they were occupied for a good hour or so making our sidewalk looking like a full blown rainbow! I loved the chunkyness of the chalk and the kids seem to have no trouble really going at it on the asphalt. A great little stocking filler if you ask us!!

Moments | Beach Rd

M wears: Hoodie by Bobo Choses // Shorts by Cotton on Kids // Leggings by Småfolk // Sneakers by Walnut Melbourne. D wears: Hoodie by Bobo Choses // Pants by Popupshop // Shoes by Vans // Beanie by The Brand.

A couple of photos from our quick beach get out today. Heaps of fresh air and a bit of a play in the sand was all we needed after a slow start to a otherwise rainy Saturday. We are in the middle of a big Spring clean at home. It is incredible how nice it feels to get rid off things that somehow just seem to linger in the drawers and in the closets. I promised myself not to get any more black tees! Good to go over it all to see what you have and certainly don't need any more of.

Have you caught the video press of the CIFF kids fashion show? I always giggle when I see little children take the runway. They are so incredible cute and so far from these long legged models we are so used to see. In the midst of all fashion hype it is so refreshing to see the faces of kids who looks like they are just having a giggle and is probably wondering whats the big deal with these threads they are wearing anyway... Have a nice weekend peeps!
