If you are ever driving around in the Red Hill area, a visit to Montalto is always a good idea. Not only do they have lovely food and wine, they also have a sculptural park which the kids will love no matter what age they are in. Pick up a glass of your liking in the piazza and take it with you as you wander the vineyard and check out some of their amazing range of sculptures. Each year there will be more on display and the ones that are popular and get's most votes get to stay in the permanent exhibition. It is such a wonderful idea and the setting of the rolling hills as you are sipping on a wine from the area is nothing but breathtaking.
Their newly renovated piazza was wonderful and a great option if you don't want to take the kids into the more formal restaurant. If you are visiting on a weekend, make sure you sign up your name on the table list and do the sculptural tour while you wait. It can be quite busy on the weekend so it's always good to be prepared and avoid any lengthy waiting periods with the kids. The stone oven baked pizza is worth the wait though, and it was the best end to a great walk among some truly creative sculptures. Some where even interactive like the big cleaning bottles and a massive wind-up music sculpture which the kids loved of course.
Hope your weekend was full of adventures & fun as well!
