Now THIS is exciting! KaLLio is the embodiment of local sustainable practices. Pre loved men's shirts are collected, sorted, dissected, resown in ethical New York City factories and given new life. Nothing is wasted. The basic clothing from previous generations becomes the one-of-a-kind fashion of the next. The cycle continues.

KaLLio is a kids wear brand that is creating a new way for children and parents to connect. Inspired by the imaginary world of children playing dress up, KaLLio re-imagines kid's everyday favorites from items they would find in their parent's wardrobe.

The first collection takes Dad's button down shirts from the office to the playground, via some genius cutting and sewing, creating incredibly cute, comfortable and remarkably sophisticated children's wear. Collars are removed, sleeves become trousers and bloomers, mismatched fabrics are fused together, and the shirts are given new life as one-of-a-kind designs.

The inspiration for KaLLio came after ten years of living and working around the world as a fashion designer and creative director for many mainstream fashion retail companies. I felt a need to start a brand closer to home that creates thoughtful, functional and beautiful kids wear that focuses on utilizing only local resources and the skills and talents of local crafts people.

KaLLio is created and designed by Karina Kallio and is 100% designed and made in New York, USA.
