New In | Popupshop / Mini Rodini

Two of our favourite brands for basics and simply lovely everyday wear is Popupshop and Mini Rodini. Both labels are organic and their clothes are always of the highest quality. We were in need of a good wind jacket for the Autumn/Winter and since Mini Rodini just had released a very sustainable one that I think suit both girls and boys, I opted to go with their great, new navy one.

A few other items also managed to fall into the shopping basket (not sure how that always seem to happen) and since Oii is currently having a big sale, we got some great bargains on Popupshop's great Astronaut sleep dress and a pair of amazingly soft stockings. We also couldn't pass up on the spring favourite from Mini Rodini, the wing tee, with cherry print. Another bonus that comes with shopping with Oii is their great service and fast shipping. We ordered our things on Friday and it arrived Wednesday, that's 4 days all the way from Sweden to Australia! Very impressive.

Brand Watch | Finger in the Nose SS14

A quick look at Finger In The Nose and there SS14 collection today. As usual this label with it's base in Paris packs a big bag of authenticity and Rock n' Roll attitude, and this collection is no different. The summer trends of tie dye is present and some classic summer pieces like denim shirts and candy stripe bathing suit gives the collection that sort of 4th of July feeling.

The brand was created by Siv Tone Kverneland. The combination of French posh and Scandinavian cool is clearly visible in the styles of Finger in the Nose. We recently featured their lovely family home which you can read about here.

The weekend turned into another scorcher, with temperatures soaring over 40C. Saturday was more or less spent inside with the air conditioner running on full speed. But the good thing was we got to try out a lot of family games we haven't tried out yet, so it was a relaxing day and a good excuse to just lay around and catch up on some rest. Sunday we decided to try and jump in the car and drive down the peninsula, to a town called Safety Beach. They have the best little harbor/bay, with a lovely seafood restaurant and the best bay to swim in. As we drove down the beach road the wind was really strong and the big waves in the bay didn't look very promising. We decided to head on and hope for the best, and am I glad we did! As we walked down the path down to the bay, it was perfectly sheltered and there was only a tiny breeze down on the beach itself.

We lunched at The Rock, which is such a nice place with a gorgeous view out in the harbor. The boats were bobbing up and down on the waves and we couldn't have more lovely weather. After lunch we decided to cool down in the waves and it was the perfect ending to a hot but nice weekend.

Brand Watch | Mini Rodini SS14 "Mini Zoologist"

The ever so popular Swedish label Mini Rodini launched their SS14 Mini Zoologist collection yesterday. Elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, pandas is in this first drop, and an array of other exotic animals are to come.

A jungle symphony of organic cottons and recycled polyesters which is the most sustainable collection from the label so far. Right now you can find the new SS14 collection over at Oii, Minibots, Orange Mayonnaise, Noeuf and Shan & Toad,

I know we still have a while to go with this summer but right now it feels like an indian summer. Friday has finally come up and another 37c is on the menu. The weekend and the rest of the week also looks like a big sunny smorgasbord, so we are simply hanging out in as little as we possible could wear.

Here are a few photos from last weekend - a quick trip to a lunch hangout on the coast. This weekend we are planning on driving a bit further and hitting one of our favourite beach spots on the peninsula. They got the best little seafood restaurant and a wonderful little bay to swim in.
