Moments | Let's Hit the Park

M wears: Jacket by Zara / Singlet by Mango Kids / Cord shorts by Finger in the Nose / Leggings by Mango Kids / Shoes by Minnetonka / Bag by Susan Bijl. D wears: Jacket by Finger in the Nose / Leggings by Nico Nico / Shoes by 10IS / Beanie by Mini Rodini.

We managed to get out and not get rained on yesterday. Amazing considering the last 5 days of rain and storms here in Victoria. We jumped on our bikes and rode to a local park for a play. The kids manage to whip up a restaurant kitchen and started cooking meals. M was the chef and D was the farmer who supplied the chef with ingredients. I love how imaginative kids are. They even made me a coffee and a muffin while I was waiting for my meal (now that is service!).

We also made a quick stop at the local skate park and watched a couple of boys skate. D insisted on that next time we go by the skate park he had to have his skateboard with him. When we got on our bikes to go D informed me he had payed one of the skater boys a dollar for a good show (haha.. maybe I should be more careful giving the little dude his own spending money, then again... they did give us a good show). Then it was off to one of our favourite food hang outs which has a playground attached to it. So a day full of play and entirely spent outside which was a nice change! The sun has decided to make another appearance today so we are hoping for more of the same today, have a lovely weekend out there and a even better weekend!

New In | Orange Mayonnaise

Some new goodies dropped in today from a little shopping spree at Orange Mayonnaise. With the new Mini & Maximus coming in we simply had to get M's doodle on the lovely marle grey tunic and for the little dude we got the biking monster. With all the swim school sessions he also needed a pair of new swim trunks so we went for the cool geometric prints from Kidscase.

We got a new statue of liberty top from one of our favourite labels American Outfitters for the girl and from Mini Rodini we got the bow tee for summer. I haven't been too sold on the latest Bobo Choses collection (yes I know, I am probably mad since everybody else out there seem to love it), but I couldn't pass out on the nice trumpet longsleeve for D.

Papier Mache // Shan & Toad

I really like this collaboration with one of our sponsors Shan & Toad and one of my favourite magazines Papier Mache. They picked their favourite items from Shan & Toad's AW13 selection and made it into a little online publication. This is a great place to find some autumn/winter inspiration for your little ones.

You can read the online catalog here.

Brand Watch | Frank & Lu

It wasn't long ago I stumbled across this US label, Frank & Lu. I fell for their lovely, comfy hoodies, with the button option and quickly looked through their webshop. I instantly found a lot of great looking clothes that I would describe as stylish basics. The sort of clothes that you find in the morning and instantly want to jump into.

The idea for Frank & Lu,  a line of fashion clothing for boys and girls, sprung from necessity. Since he was old enough to have an opinion, Frank would not wear scratchy, stiff t-shirts with monster trucks and dinosaurs on them.  If a big person wouldn’t wear them, why should a kid have to?   And though Lu likes pink ruffles and sparkles and tulle, she has to be comfortable or multiple outfit changes per day ensue.  So we built a fashion line that incorporates a high degree of style with comfort built in, using lighter weight fabrics that are easy for a child to get in and out of.

Michael Jarvela is the founder and CEO of Frank & Lu. Michael graduated from Parsons school of design in 1993.  A veteran fashion designer of 18 years, Michael has headed up the men’s department at Gap, created the best selling JCrew Tee shirts ever, and was there when Club Monaco was just a start up.

Frank and Lu are the Creative Directors at Frank & Lu.  Frank is 7 and Lu is 5.  Raised in New York City, they draw their inspiration from New York and all it has to offer.  Though Dad may design,  Frank and Lu tell him exactly what they like...and what they don’t. If they won’t wear it... he doesn’t make it. Because after 7 years of personal research on great style and comfort of kids clothes, the Frank and Lu philosophy is that their customers should be a whole lot less fussy about getting dressed.

Moments | Tuesday Details

M wears: Jacket by Zara / Pants by Imps & Elfs / Sandals by Pom D'Api / Longsleeve by Tuss.

It has been windy here in Melbourne, VERY windy. The sort of wind you almost worry about when the house creaks and the trees bends in ways you never thought were possible. Yesterday it was a warm wind but today it had switched to cold again and all of a sudden it was jacket weather again. I can only compare this weather as April weather in Sweden. When it is hot one day and cold the next. Apparently that is September weather over here... makes sense.

Above are a few photos from our Tuesday afternoon, there has been a lot of biking this holiday which has been great. M is getting much more secure when she bikes and it is easier to go on longer trips. We also squeezed in a little drawing session while people watching at one of our favourite hang outs. It is amazing how nice it is to sit inside while the rain pours down and you can smell the coffee being made behind you... Tuesday you were pretty alright after all!

New In | Double Wax Suede by 10IS

You feel extra lucky when a pair of new, great quality shoes arrive in the mail. It is funny, even when they are not for you but for your son, you still feel lucky and can't wait to unwrap them! Above is a few shots I took of my sons new sneakers, Double Wax Suede in green by 10IS.

Last year we got to try out this pair from 10IS Classic Tennis that we were extremely happy with. I love the nice break from velcro but without loosing the speed of it since the zip function is so much quicker than tying the laces in the morning. This time around they have even added another zipper to the design and made it a twin zip. which have been a great addition. Now you simply pull the whole front down and the foot slips easily in the shoe. These shoes just gets better with time. The shoes we got last year is still in use and the lovely suede is now a bit softer and the zipper slides easy up and down which makes it perfect for a four year old to put them on and off at school/kinder.

The comfortable insole (removable) makes it a great all around shoe, and it even comes in two sizes, wide fitted (blue) or thin fitted (orange, which fits most body types and is the default sole that comes with the shoe. ) By adding two options for customers, it is easier to adapt the comfort and support of the shoes for different foot types.

The new AW 13 collection has a lot of great options in colours and materials for both boys and girls which you can view here.

You can find 10IS online at My Little Square & Oii Design and for an extended list of retailers, please visit:
