Bon Voyage!

That's it... TERM 1 of school, done and dusted. No more early mornings, making school lunches, finding school uniforms or getting the bikes on the back of the car (yep.. everyday morning routine here so I can bike and pick the kids up on their bikes from school). Nope no more of that - for a whole 2 weeks!

Instead we pack our bags and jump into our car to drive down the coast. We have rented a little pearl of a beach house, with great sea views and a balcony we can have breakfast on (OK here's to hoping the weather Gods offers us a bit warmer weather than we have gotten the last few days!) We have packed some warm denim goodies that goes great in both warm and cold conditions so I am sure we will be fine!

I am bringing the camera so I am sure we will be back with some nice memories to share...
until then, have a really HAPPY EASTER!

THINGS WE LOVE | Once upon a time in Space!

It is Sci-fi love on the highest level. The look on the boy when he saw this tee arriving the other day was priceless. Big gaping mouth and massive eyes for a whole minute until finally one word came out of his mouth.... ZAP! Yep, I hear ya... there is a whole lot of zap on that tee buddy.

Not a big gun fan in general but I can see how a kids brains kicks off when they see old classic ray guns. There is so much imagination put into them and they all scream out adventure in space! It's a major TEE crush for us. It also comes in a sweater version.

There is packing going on lately...we can't wait until school break is here! We are going off on a little Island adventure and half of the joy is just packing for it... the anticipation for some relaxing days in a gorgeous house by the sea gets us through these last, colder days.  So there of the outfit surge to the blog. Had to snap a shot of this simple yet stylish outfit for a boy (or a girl for that matter) Sometimes less really is more!

OUTFIT | I Dig Denim

Our denim crush from Sweden I Dig Denim is our go-to denim solution, and this season we are lucky because they have tapped into some designs that will fit both warm and cold season. I love that they have also decided to turn down the saturation and put out a black and grey palette as well. These garments is a mix of everything we love. A dash of vintage will go a long way and will only look better the more they are worn. Here are some of our favourite pieces from this SS15 season.

I don't want to admit it, but it did feel like we got the last warm dose of the summer this weekend. The forecast had plenty of sun in store for us so we took the chance to soak it up and squeeze in a dip in the ocean before it gets too cold! It is such a treat that we could throw off the shoes and stick our toes into the warm, white sand. A lazy afternoon in the sand dunes is pretty much the best way to spend a weekend, so there were plenty of happy faces here. 

We are a big fans of the fun label Kukukid, a label that focuses on rebel but cute! Their new ocean themed collection was the perfect fit for a day close to the sea. These days there seem to be less unisex clothes on the market so that is a huge plus for us. Their gender neutral prints goes so well for all kids of the family and is easy to hand down to younger siblings. I also like that they have a lovely mix of 95% cotton and a dash of 5 % spandex to create the unique stretch feeling, which makes it easier for the kids to dress themselves and it also gives the clothes a longer lasting life. We are also happy to see their trademark the rounded, longer back is still there.. it gives the tops such a nice, unique feel and transform a ordinary tee into something quite special!

We fell head over heals for the mint colour and their new navy Dino hoodie is nothing but amazing. Where can you find such a cool profile on a hoodie!? The zip goes up over the chin and is the perfect companion when the wind goes cold on you. 

A Little Bit of Cheek is one of the few Australian retailers of this brand down here in Australia and they have taken in a big portion of this collection.  There you can find the cheeky octopus tee, the delicious fresh mint paper boat baggy pants and the seriously cool Dino hoodie.

I think the warm memories of this weekend will last for a while so I am happy I can return to these photos when the colder winds have taken over here... But I am sure I will remember them when ever my kids jump into these clothes again! Stay tuned for the girls wear from Kukukid which will be featured here soon!

Brand Watch | Miss Ruby Tuesday

Have you heard that Women's label Ruby Tuesday has started a kids collection? Aptly named Miss Ruby Tuesday, it takes minimalism to new heights! Here is what the creators behind the small offspring has to say about their new baby...


"2011 marked the birth of Ruby Tuesday, a collection of iconic pieces that complement the wardrobe of every fashion conscious woman. Three years later, we are happily thriving and expanding the women’s line to include the younger generation.
It started with our travels to Paris and Scandinavia when we brought loads of kids stuff like Stella McCartney circus jackets and beautiful basic items with a twist. Our home is filled with three girls of 0 till 9 years old, so the seed of our 'mini' collection was inevitably planted. The collection is a mix of jerseys, washed sweats and 100% linen T-shirts.

This season, we have developed a print that is a mix of dots and animal prints, that is now already blogged internationally by trend forecasters as the ‘Dalmatian spot’ print. Miss Ruby Tuesday is essentially a kids collection with an adult touch; not too complicated in design and colours, but with nice details and prints.
Ruby Tuesday, the name of a song from the Forty Licks Album of the Stones, is a never-ending story of inspiration and influence. Moments | Tahbilk Winery

On our way to Bright we decided to stop by one of the oldest wineries in Australia - Tahbilk winery. Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of Australia's most beautiful and historic family owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), one of the nation's premium viticultural areas. Tahbilk is now home to 5 generations of winemakers. 

It was a perfect stop over since we had been in the car for an hour and the kids were eager to stretch their legs. On the grounds there is also a wonderful cafe/resturant that has a beautiful scenery of the Gouldburn River. Here you can sample some of the vast array of different wines produced here and dine on fine food. It is a perfect place to bring children since there is plenty of space and the menu offers food options for kids as well. After we had topped up on food and drinks we visited the old wine cellar. The kids were amazed with all the old things they saw and our daughter couldn't get enough of the amazing seemingly never-ending dark cellar. Here you saw rows after rows of old wine barrels stacked with labels like Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marsanne and 'old block' Cabernet. 

We explored the cellars for a while, purchased some bottles and joined their wine club before we set off on our road trip towards Bright.

SMALL FASHION | Springstof Lookbook

How good is Springstof's new SS15 LOOKBOOK? I always get a bit extra excited each season because I know the team over at online shop Springstof is cooking up a new fun way to display the new seasons fashion in their store. This one was no exception, how cool are those little peeps and their dogs!?  I love how they have integrated the dogs personality and kids fashion and come up with a unique way of showing the coolest brands for kids out there.

"Deep into the forest where the birds sing a bit louder and the plants seem a bit more lush hides the best playgrounds and biggest adventures"  - This is where we try to escape and let the kids explore just get away from paved roads and city life.

It was also the best place to shoot some photos to show you the new AW15 range from girls wear label Scotch R'belle. The new autumn/winter range has just dropped at Buckets and Spades and there are so many key wardrobe pieces for the girls in there. As per usual the attention to details in these garments are amazing. I can't even begin to describe the thick quality of this skirt. The embroided flower pattern is gorgeous and the drawstring waist makes it such a stand out piece. There are so many good outfits in this drop and you really can't go wrong with what every you choose because the colour pallet is made to fit everything in the collection.
