The little guy likes this place, as you might have noticed in the photo feed, so this is where we hang. We bring some wheels and have fun for a few hours. We watch the big boys do tricks and find airtime and we go in the big bowl and get better (even mum here). I dropped in the big bowl on his scooter and old memories of adrenaline kicked back in. Who needs coffee when you got wheels right?!

Longtime fans of author Oliver Jeffers, we are getting giddy about his release of a new picture book - Once Upon An Alphabet. We love the quirky tales that accompanies the letters in the alphabet and it makes for interesting conversations as you learn the shapes and look of each and every letter.

I love books that entertain the adult reader as much as the child and this one definitely ticks the boxes. Whenever one of my kids come running with one of Oliver Jeffers books you know you are in for a good read and a visual treat!

Once Upon An Alphabet comes out Oct 14th, and will be available in most bookstores and in his official online store too.

Brand Watch | FJÄLLRÄVEN

This is nostalgia! I grew up wearing this backpack to school, and even though they have never gone away I love that a new generation is growing up with this hard wearing Swedish label. Fjällräven means Mountain Fox and it seriously was the best lasting backpack you could have as a kid. Right now Zirimola Eco Shop has a fresh batch of these in two sizes, mini and classic. We feel like coast surfers, who roam the coast for the best spots in the sun. These are the days we cling on to when the school week have become too long or rain is poring down on us on our bikes. The fresh sea air, the warm sand and exploration of the cliffs - a chance to relax and kick back and just take in the view of the magnificent place we live in. This is Spring!

Brand Watch | Popupshop AW14

I first heard of Popupshop when the label started in 2007, I can't quite remember how I found out about them, but I spoke directly to one of the designers and got to order a pair of denim pants and a basic sweat and sent down to Australia. I instantly fell in love with the quality and no fuss approach to their design. I also support their big focus on sustainability and organic materials.

Both my kids grew up in those pants and there was no holes in sight after two kids had worn it to daycare and the park. The following years we made sure to always have some of their garments in the kids wardrobe. We have had numerous of their baggy sweat pants and jump suits and we never get tired of them or their wonderful fit. For this AW14 season they are following up on their animal theme and they have some really nice pieces that are just as compelling to the kids as the nature loving parent. Moments | Freedom

Freedom is two wheels! I love taking this guy out on the bike and we get to do so much more because of it since we get to explore more. The other day we biked down to the bay, had breakfast by the baths, built sand creations and jumped from all the great sand dunes. Then we biked all the way to the North side and drove in puddles and climbed trees, and we even managed to squeeze in a ice cream break as well.  Then he insisted on biking all the way to his big sisters school for pick up so we went right ahead and that went just as well. We were both quite tired after that adventure on wheels, but it felt amazing. It is truly a new sense of freedom and you could tell by the smile on his face that day.
