Kids are out of kinder/school and we are off to NSW and a chance to kick back and have a few weeks in the sun and surf. We are signing off for a few weeks with some sunny photos from the weekend, and take this opportunity to wishing you all a lovely Christmas break where ever you might be. See you in the new year and thank you for visiting this past year! There are many new exciting projects lining up that I can't wait to share with you all, so check back in the beginning of January!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Interior | OMY Posters

These nifty little posters come from OMY and in the true sense you will get two for one when getting one of these. One image during the day and one appears as soon as the room goes dark in the night. Silkscreen printed poster on heavy recycled paper with phosphorescent and fluo inks. The poster lights up in the dark to watch over your kids dreams at night. (how cool is the owl that wakes up at nighttime)

The posters measures 50x70cm and is available via Orange Mayonnaise.

Moments | Keep on Rolling

D wears: Island tribe cap by Munsterkids / Don't Grow Up tee by Munsterkids / Ramones jeans by Munsterkids / Hoodie by Munkstown / Sneakers by Puma / Sunglasses by Sons + Daughters.

A boy and his board, 4 wheels and seemingly endless of fun. I have a serious crush on this tee by munsterkids, and it is so perfect right now when I would see this guy slow down a bit with his growing up. In about a months time, he is going off to big school! A new chapter and new experiences, but to be honest I just want to press pause and live in a bubble where things just stay exactly the way things are now... just for a little bit longer.

Moments | Snow vs Sand

D wears: Tee by Tiny Whales / Pants by Mini & Maximus / Beanie by I Dig Denim / Shoes by Puma.

Being a Swede I have never really gotten used to having Christmas in the middle of summer. It will always feel a bit wrong and it seem a bit harder to get into the spirit of Christmas when the weather is warm and the days are light. As the years have passed I have simply stopped craving all that yummy Swedish Christmas food and instead finding myself wish for seafood and other lighter, summery food. You sort of make your own Christmas that fits this new season (not saying I don't miss my mum's wonderful Christmas food because I do!!) but you realize there is no winning in missing, you simply have to find new traditions.

The other day when we were playing at the beach I realized just how much similarities there were with the sand and the snow. I still remember when we had some cold winters and when we were lucky enough to have a white one and you could go out and run in the snow, toss it up in the air and let it fall down on you. Although we are many miles away from snow the way my kids play with sand it is not hard to see they have a similar joy. They jump, throw and roll in the sand like I did with the snow, so it is simply a different kind of Christmas feeling here, but also in a way the same which puts a smile on my lips and a bit more Christmas cheer in my mind.

Enter the Magical world of Tutu du Monde

If you could tap into the magical world of fairies, THIS is pretty much how it would look like. Gorgeous creations in high quality fabrics with an amazing vintage feel to every piece. A world of make-believe where pretty princesses and fabulous fairies can roam free. Here little girls can dress up and loose themselves in another place and time. Above all it is a world of fun and it is easy to see why the pieces are so timeless and would be a great thing to save for the next generation of faries/princesses to come.

Here are a few of our favourites from the current selection at Buckets and Spades:
1. Dove Headband / 2. Little Urchin Tutu / 3. Birds Nest Tutu / 4. Jewel at the Sea Feather headband / 5. Serenity tutu dress / 6. Dainty Darling dress / 7. Enchanted Butterfly hairclip / 8. Songbird headband / 9. Dazzling Beauty Top / 10. Diamonds and Perls tutu / 11. Whisper tutu skirt / 12. Crystal Cape.

The designer of Tutu du Monde, Andrea Rembeck describes her inspiration process like this...

"I draw inspiration from the delicate and the divine. I can often be found scouring vintage stores and markets for exquisitely crafted pieces that stimulate the senses for colour and embellishments.

Naturally with children's clothing it is incredibly important to keep comfort in mind. By using beautifully soft materials, our pieces are not only safe to wear but divinely comfortable all day long. We avoid complicated structures and irritating details like zips. Instead focusing on simple timeless designs, breathable, lightweight fabrics, luxurious silks and materials with stretch
."

I love the fact that each tutu comes with adjustable straps for growing princesses which means the tutus are long wearing and can be enjoyed for years to come.

Australian shop Buckets and Spades have a great selection of Tutu du Monde and wonderful in store staff that can help you find your girls favourite dress and size. Please visit their website for more information on this label.

Moments | Monash Gallery of Art

This weekend offered a quick look back into autumn/winter and there was no warm weather at all. Instead the arctic pushed cold winds and rain our way, but none the less we decided to head towards the mountain and a chance to check out Monash Gallery of Art. We have always driven past this place and never visited, but today we thought it was a good idea to stop and go in. There was a art event going on, so the kids instantly scored some hot dogs and checked out some rare, vintage Jaguar cars, which of course D was immensely interested in (and thought his Dad should buy... yeah right).

When the rain started to drizzle we went inside and checked out some of the free photography exhibitions. There were a few workshops going on so it was a bit hard to see all the areas but it was nice to escape from the heavy rain drops. When the weather cleared the kids explored the outdoors again. It is a really lovely place up here. It felt like we had stepped into a piece of serenity with gorgeous architecture (there were several homes around the lake) and beautiful nature all around. In the center of it all was a wonderful little lake, with ducks and lily pads. That in itself was enough to keep the kids entertained for another hour while we had a chance to grab a coffee and sit on a nearby bench and take in the magnificent view.

Not the warmest of weekends but a great chance to escape the sand of the beach and venture into other fun surroundings.

Moments | Summer Stories

D wears: This Is How I Roll tee by Munsterkids / Jag Team Pants by Munsterkids / Paintball boardies by Munsterkids / High Stack Cap by Munsterkids.

While the weatherman promised rain today, Melbourne seemed to have other plans on the agenda. This is a good time to have a spare of boardies in your bag in case it turns sunny and a chance to have a dip in the blue appears. We met up with some friends and spent the afternoon on the beach and the spare boardies came to good use! December always seem to be such a crazy month but there is nothing better than a trip to the sea to forget all the 'musts and things to do' - there its all about being in the moment and a chance to enjoy the sun for a while.
