The best thing about holidays are of course that you get to do more of what you like. One place we haven't been to before but have wanted to visit for a while is the Garden of Eden Nursery. A little green oasis in the middle of Albert Park. Ever since our little palm tree died (yes I can't brag about having very green fingers) we needed a new green friend in our livingroom. A good friend recommended this nursery, and what a little treasure trove it is! They have an abundance of both indoor and outdoor plants and for the interior lover there is plenty to feast your eyes on as well! The kids loved visiting and it was fun making plans for our little garden. If you ever are in the area it's definitely worth a visit!

We ended up getting a lush parlor palm for our living room and a nifty little air plant for our dino planter at home, and yes, we ended up with a cute little polar bear which miss M couldn't resist.

Some snapshots from a day outside in the Botanical Garden located in the heart of Melbourne city. We escape here when the chaos get too much and its time to appreciate the fine details of nature. It is such a nice place to visit and a must if you are visiting Melbourne. Both adults and kids will enjoy it and there is plenty to take in and enjoy, including fine food and drinks. A new restaurant/cafe has opened called Jardin Tan which has two venues. One that serves coffee and the traditional food on the go and one restaurant which explores the dynamic flavours of French-Indochina in a warm and welcoming space. If your kids are a bit adventurous in the food department let them try some new flavours like the delicious Vietnamese Pho soup.

There is nothing better than walking off the food in the shade of the amazing plants and trees here. Lots of little paths to explore and it is an absolute pleasure to stop and just take in the wonderful details of everything living here. If you are lucky you can also catch some big fruit bats flying between the high trees or check out the eels swiming in the several little ponds. It is definitely a favourite spot of ours, and I bet we will be back here again soon.

Moments | Neon Love

Some sunny moments after school at a loom band session. The loom bands have taken over these days and since December they have been quite big over here, having boys and girls making beautiful, neon bracelets and necklaces. You see little groups of kids sitting everywhere, at school, at swim school etc totally absorbed in creating new patterns and colour choices. M is quite into it as well and has finally saved up to a whole loom band kit (so hopefully Easter holiday craft session is fixed).

What better to set off the neon love than this outfit from Icelandic label Ígló & Indí! I love their nice graphics and comfy cut on the shorts. They have such a nice balance between cute and comfy and it looks so good on M. Since we got some very nice and warm days inbetween the colder Autumn days I hope she gets a good chance to really wear this outfit a lot.

Let's Wear | Ígló & Indí

This weekend the kids had a chance to try out the Icelandic label Ígló & Indí. I have written about this exciting kids label before here, but it is always great to feel the garments and let the kids have a run in them to see for yourself how they feel, and measure up on two active kids, to give it a proper review.

First thing we noticed was how all the garments had a nice stretch in them, especially the tops, which are made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex. The mix gives the tops that good fit but also allows the kids to feel free when they play. D who is 4 and a half is wearing a size 104/110 and M who is 7 wears 128/134. The clothes run true to size and sat perfect on.

I let the kids choose their own outfit which came out really well with M going for the cute Katrin Fox longsleeve and matching it with the cool Bella Leopard Pants. D picked the Jacob One eye Top (who can resist a pirate animal!?) and to that the Robert Carrot Pants.

M who are not normally a big fan of pants loved the Bella Leopard Pants. They have a great loose fit on top but cut so the legs narrow off and gives it a nice mix between a harem pant and leggings. She was also fond of the generous side pockets with the decorative frill. Both pants comes from the AW13 collection and has a nice thick quality to them. The Robert Carrot pants has a great look with some raw drawstrings on the front and a nice cut over all. They are also have a longer crotch and give them that nice relaxed feel.

Personally I can see how the kids love these clothes. I love the illustrations that tell tales of adventures and characters that the kids can relate to. I also like that there has been put a lot of thought into what provides maximum comfort without compromising on creativity. Four thumbs up from the two testers that certainly took the clothes through a rough day of playing in the forest, cliffs and beach.
