Moments | Hays Paddock

A fun day in Hay's Paddock. A great playground in Kew East which is normally a bit too far from where we live but every now and then we make the trip over there.  It is such a nice playground with a nice butterfly theme throughout. Our kids always seem to end up in the shady sandpit area and jump on the soft little hills. It is a nice playground because it is quite easy to see your kids from all areas so its nice to let them go and explore on their own.

Central to the playground layout are two huge, open ended timber boardwalks, each with several different entry/exit points along their lengths, including single and double width slides, fireman poles, vertical and diagonal spiral poles, ladders and climbing nets. There are several music exploration equipment. Different sizes of pipes, even old gas containers which makes funny sounds when you lift the top.

If you are in the area it is definitely worth a visit with your little ones! Hope you all had a nice weekend out there..

PLAY | Toca Paper Creatures

We have been long time fans of Swedish company Toca Boca who makes great apps for kids on multiple platforms. Lately they have added some creative toys to their shop and I'd like to show you their new collaboration with Argentinian artist CHU. I absolutely love toys that promotes imagination and creativity and this little set does both!

Toca Paper Creatures
- a puzzle of colorful pieces that can be combined in thousands of different ways to make a completely unique little creature - is the result of the collaboration together with Argentinian street artist, CHU. Currently living in Buenos Aires, CHU is known for his work in art, illustration, graphic design and animation, among others. As the co-founder of the DOMA Collective, a multidisciplinary art and design collective, CHU played a key role in bringing street art to Buenos Aires

To get an idea of how the collaboration worked check out this great little artist visit with CHU and his inspiring work in the city landscape.

Moments | Into Nature We Walk

The weekend brought more sunshine and on Sunday we decided to drive up to the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk. It is placed in a national park at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges and it is an excellent place to get closer to nature (and get some exercise too!) The soft grassy hills are perfect for a picnic and there are several hiking tracks for everybody's liking. For the serious hikers there is the 1000 Steps which is literally a steep hill with 1000 steps which continues with several tracks. We tried the nature trail which was a bit like stepping into a magical world! Deep lush forest and inviting tracks. The sounds of little creeks and an array of different bird life (we spotted cockatoos, kookaburras and rainbow parrots ) was enough to keep the kids walking further on the track and it was easy to get intrigued by the wonderful wild that lives here. We saw a massive ant which was even bigger than a bull ant, and several little lizards in the trees.

The kids collected gum tree leaves and put them in their hair/caps and instantly felt like nature natives! It is so nice to show the kids just how rich nature is, and what an amazing ecosystem that lives here.

When we came back to the start the kids were so pumped that we even tried the 1000 steps.. we got half way there and then decided it was time for an icy pole on the grassy hills..haha.. but we all decided that next time we would go all the way!

Some photos from our Saturday. The weather forecast promised a hot day, but as we finally got outside it was still a nice breezy day with some fluffy clouds over our heads. Maybe the weather predictors were wrong? Who knows, it is Melbourne after all. Off we went and had lunch at local favorite and as we ate we realized it was getting hotter (after a quick shower of rain). By the time we were back in the car we decided it was best to head for a place that could give us some cooler winds and perhaps a chance to fly a kite.

There is a nice little calm spot in Kingston which is perfect for kite flying so we ended up walking down the lovely path and down to the beach. When we finally arrived everybody was so hot, there was not much plans on kites anymore. All that was on the agenda was to cool down. . Kids were laughing and splashing while the big people found a good spot in the shade to relax on. The temperature kept rising until it hit 32C. When the kids had enough of splashing, it was a quick fly with the kite and then it was time to head for home. We were all slightly knocked out by all the fresh air and sun, but definitely a good start to the weekend!

Interior | Rafa Kids Toddler Room

RAFA kids collection of bedding, blankets, pillows and baskets for a child’s room is growing this season. Already being a big fan of their designer furniture for kids, this new range of bedding and room accessories fits perfect in their esthetic form language. I love their new storage baskets that are perfect for stray toys, and their soft linen pillowcases looks great to rest a tired head on.

The big stuffed snake can be a perfect bed dumper for younger kids or perhaps fold up for a quick cushion at a reading session.

Find more info and photos on their range at:

Moments | On the Boardwalk

D wears: Long gloved zip hoodie by Nununu / pants by Kukukid / Shoes by Puma. M wears: Chaya Dress by molo / Cat stockings by Stella McCartney / Shoes by 10 IS.

The weather keeps jumping from hot to cool, depending on where the wind comes from. It doesn't mean you don't go out, you just throw on an extra layer and make the most of it. Here are a few photos from an afternoon stroll down on the St Kilda Boardwalk. A popular hangout for beach visitors, skaters, even horse riders! In between the long beach, you can find plenty of restaurants, sport equipment hiring, a sea bath and playgrounds. We don't normally venture here so it was fun to take the kids to a place they haven't seen in a while.

It is just on the other side of the main road to the amusement park Luna Park which we visited the weekend before. Then it was almost 30C and a bit different to this days 15C. When the wind was too strong we sneaked into a nice little take away place and shared some chilli dogs, a perfect end to a nice day in the fresh sea air.
