kit+lily

I had never heard of kit+lily until the other day when I ordered some clothes from nochanlantmom, but I instantly liked their patterns and colour combinations. They even do a few items in mom size as well. Don't forget to check out their lovely tote bags too!

In the Bag!

Thought I'd share what I have had in my shopping bag lately. Here are my latest buys for my two tiny people. Tried ordering from US, from nonchalantmom. Founded by Carina Schott, this shop has one of the best selections of unique brands out there. Nonchalant Mom was born from a need to find great toys, clothes and information on natural parenting, all in one place. They also have a very interesting blog that is well worth a read!

PÖLKA Winter 11

There are many pieces I like in Pölka's new winter collection (out in stores at end of March). Their mix of geometric patters, nice colour knits, and baggy comfortable hang is right on the money. I love when a collection makes equally interesting items for both girls and boys and there seem to be such a nice selection for both in this one. Also loving the pj's with their bold colourful patters (a new sort of retro) with their thumb holes. You can read more about Pölka at their website and find the entire list of Stockists. More images from their winter 11 collection available here.

Fun on Wheels

Everybody knows how much children loves sand and sandboxes, but this particular sandbox I have to confess that I love. I spotted this sandbox over at nochalantmom, when I read an interview in Domino Magazine about a year ago. Now when I went back and looked in their blog, I actually found how it had been made (yep, handmade by nochalantdad). If you are interested in making this portable sandbox for yourself, have a read here.

Cradle to Cradle

Bonkeli, a family run design company based in Sweden, is offering a limited edition range of clothes for kids with a collection of t shirts and baby accessories made entirely out of compostable materials, the clothes being certified as Cradle-to-Cradle.
The Cradle-to-Cradle design concept is based upon the idea of making products that fit into the life-cycle of nature. By using only bio-degradable materials like cotton and wool, no poisonous waste materials are produced.

"We are very much looking forward to be following the work of Hanna och Jeppe Larsen, both within fashion design and new ways of protecting our environment." The lovely cloud design is also available from Oii barnkläder.

Papier Mache

Online Children's magazine papier mache is trying out a printed version of their wonderful magazine. You can buy and preview it here. (Great photography!!)

Sonny Angel

I can't quite make up my mind, are these vinyl dolls totally adorable or just a bit too much? Sonny Angel is a Japanese invention of little luck bringers. There are heaps of different Sonny Angels models out there, this particular one has moving joints, eyes and removable clothing. More dolls here.

Camilla Engdahl

Sometimes you find something that you just instantly love... Ceramic artist Camilla Engdahl is doing some amazing things that just triggers an urge to explore and use.

Cubelicious

Always loved mobiles (I blame Alexander Calder) and especially ones that seems interesting no matter how long you stare at it. This one by Clara von Zweigbergk does the trick!

Punch n' Cuddle

An e-store is in preparation for Punch’n’Cuddle (May). Meanwhile, the brand is currently looking for childrens institutions (or other social institutions) that would be interested in testing the product. So, if you are involved in any capacity in a childrens institution (kindergarden, school, social facility, etc.), based in or around London and want to participate, you will get a free sample in return of feedback about what it’s like to have a Punch’n’Cuddle as a playmate. Spread the word!

Mom Stories...

This Mom Stories from Bloesem kids is about Maja from Lomma, Sweden. Just looking at the pictures makes me miss Sweden...

At Home - Stockholm

Wow... a nice family home, in Stockholm Sweden, up for sale. What's not to like?? Loving how the art on the walls just pops! Now I can see how my son would love to do some drawing on his own here though... so much white canvas to decorate :) Via emmas

Mumin Cupcakes

It is funny how something like this brings back memories from when you were little. I remember pulling my legs up in the couch while I watched the Mumin Trollen on TV. I loved the universe but it was also a bit scary and different with the accompanying voice over of Tove Janson. The colours were so different and to this day I think it is such an amazing eclectic mix that makes the universe truly unique.

These days you can find Mumin on pretty much anything but these cupcake shapes/trays are very cute. When you are done you can top it off with putting it on a mumin tray :) Get it here.

Memory Key

I wonder how long this nifty memory key would be left along in the computer with two curious kids? Still couldn't help wanting it, comes in 4 lovely colours (yellow, pink, black, white). 2 GB memory and available here.

Lily & the Funky Boys

There is something so light and wonderful with this piece from french Lily & the Funky Boys. Perfect for a little girl on a warm day. Can't quite put my finger on it but a lot of nice images goes through my head, like summer days, sun, warm winds and Scandinavia when I look at it. Right now it is 40 % off over at Pipsqueak (Denmark), who btw do international orders, (tax free).

Cut n' Paste

I am enjoying cutting and pasting little wardrobes together from Oii's selection of children's wear. I realised I am leaving the smaller cliental out when I had a peek at my stuff over at Oii's gallery. I think I better remedy that soon! So much amazing new threads are coming in these next couple of months that it should be so easy to do a bit of more style browsing.

Seeing double?

As a illustrator I always find it interesting to observe the different prints that goes on children's wear. I love the slightly dazed girl that is printed on this and last years collection of Little Marc Jacobs. Love her straight fringe and stare off into the horizon kind of look... Well I just saw Australian brand Two Belles and couldn't help notice the similarity in their prints. Maybe I am not the only one who loved this girl... I wonder where the copyright laws are drawn in this area? Tribute or plagiarism?

Wild Bunch

There is something so nice about these paper animals by Mibo.
Loving the colours and apparently they should be quite easy to put together in about 5 - 15 min time. Printed on 100% recycled cards they will make a nice decor after they are finished too :)

Bonds

If you have ever lived in Australia or is currently living in Australia you will know the brand Bonds. It is probably the equivalent to H&M or some other Scandinavian chain that does nice quality but manage to keep down the prices to an affordable range. Well the designers for Bonds children section have hit their head on the nail when it comes to comfort. Just check out these items from their autumn collection. Digging the patterns and comfy soft style. Lots of room for little limbs to play and move around in. Bonds are available all over Australia and in several online stores, LittleStyles to just mention one.

Another sneak peek...

Quick sneak peek at Mini Rodini's SS2011 collection, available in Australia at Tiny people & Kido.
You can get your MR crave in Sweden at Oii barnkläder. Loving the big heart sweatshirt and Je t'aime long sleeve. The quality of the fabric is suppose to be very lovely and soft.
